Dogs bark because it is a natural behavior. Barking is used to alert of possible danger and to give warning to others. However dogs natural behaviors can become unnatural, when they are bored, stressed etc. The cause of your dog’s barking is generally stress or boredom, you can avoid it. You need to exercise your dog, and keep him mentally and physically stimulated. 
How to stop your dog from excessive barking: - When the dog barks, Do not call him to you!
- Go to him, immediately after he barks, and command “NO.” Then, immediately, spray him in the face with water from a clean bottle. (this has stopped many dogs from barking)
- Your punishment should be so consistent that the dog know it is automatic consequence of barking.
- Go to him every time he barks, until he associates barking with unpleasantness.
- When the dog is quiet, reward him.
